The property is surrounded by the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park, the sprightly Mkomazana River and four dams on the property which attract a multitude of birds and wildlife to enjoy. The challenging Sani Pass extends up windy, steep gravel roads to the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho where you will be able to visit ‘the highest pub in Africa’ (bring your passport) Mkomazana Mountain Cottages comprise five self-catering cottages which are privately situated and each has its own character, garden and wood burning fireplace. Coot Cottage (6 people) Coot Cottage is a quaint thatched cottage which has loads of character, an open plan lounge with a log fireplace; dining room & kitchen looking onto the lake. There are three bedrooms, (one with a king size bed and two with single beds) and two bathrooms (one is en suite). One of the bedrooms is a comfortable loft room over the lounge. Valley House (6 people) Valley House can accommodate a total of six people as it comprises three bedrooms (one with a king size bed and two rooms with twin beds), two bathrooms (one with a bath only and one with a bath and shower in the bath), a spacious lounge with a log fireplace, a separate dining room and an old-fashioned farm kitchen. Stone House (6 people) Stone House is tucked away in a private garden. It offers 3 bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king-size bed, the other bedrooms have 2 single beds each. There are 2 bathrooms, 2 toilets and a lounge with a log fireplace. Stone Cottage (2 people) A charming self-contained one-bedroomed cottage with a king size bed, en-suite bathroom with shower, lounge with Jetmaster fireplace, a kitchenette and a small private patio with braai facilities. Rose Cottage (2 people) Rose Cottage has been styled with romance in mind. It has a lounge, a cosy bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom and a kitchen. A Jetmaster fireplace adds ambience for those icy winter nights. The four dams on the property, stocked with trout, attract a variety of birds and wildlife including eland and reedbuck. With fresh, crisp mountain air, pure cascading waterfalls, mountain streams and pristine country surrounds, Mkomazana Mountain Cottages is a nature lover’s paradise waiting for you to discover and explore.
