This sacred lodge is ideal for overnight travellers heading to Maun or other destinations in Botswana. Goo-Moremi Gorge also serves as the perfect escape for solo travelers, campers, hikers, honeymooners, and friends. The lodge offers guests a relaxing oasis after a long drive, with a beautiful restaurant perched high among the Tswapong Hills, east of Palapye. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and offers a variety of meals. The on-site bar serves refreshing cocktails and cold beers, providing the perfect spot to soak up some sunshine and splash in the beautiful rim-flow swimming pool, which overlooks the Gorge. Accommodation options at Goo-Moremi Gorge include campsites, self-catering units and luxury Meru tents. Campsites The spacious and shaded campsites are beautifully maintained, with clean ablution facilities and braai facilities. Wash-up areas are available and solar heating is provided to heat up the showers. Please note that there is no electricity available at the campsites and each site can accommodate up to 8 guests. For those who prefer a pre-erected tent, Dome or Meru-style tents can be hired at an additional cost. Self-Catering Chalets Goo-Moremi also offers a selection of self-catering chalets, including 2-bedroom (4 sleeper) and 1-bedroom (2 sleeper) options. These chalets are a popular choice for travelers and families, equipped with kitchens (cooker, fridge, cutlery, and crockery), en-suite bathroom, and outdoor showers. Each chalet has its own patio with a gas braai and the patio and bedrooms offer spectacular views. Meru Tents For those seeking an added touch of luxury, the Meru Tents are available. Guests can choose between a Presidential Meru Tent or a Standard Meru Tent. Both options offer king-size beds, en-suite bathrooms with bath and shower, air-conditioning, DSTV, a hospitality tray, gown, slippers and a small bar fridge. Please note that these tents are not self-catering, but they do feature an expansive wooden deck with outdoor seating, and breakfast is included in the rates. All other meals can be enjoyed at the restaurant. Explore the rich historical and biological interests in the Tswapong Hills, including the Moremi Gorge. The gorge is rich in history, with streams, ponds, waterfalls, deep gorges and provides an opportunity to view the endangered Cape vulture, which has established its breeding grounds at Goo-Moremi Gorge. The area is also home to baboons, rock rabbits, kudu and there is a rare chance of spotting hyenas and leopards. The springs form permanent waterfalls that plunge into deep pools below, but please note that swimming is not allowed in these pools as they are reserved for the ancestors.
