Quirimba Lodge in Barra with it's 'island style' chalets gives visitors the real essence of what this slice of paradise in Barra, Mozambique is really all about.

Colourful fishing boats parked on the beach in front, stilted wooden and grass chalets with long, silky fringes providing shade on the deck, whispering coconut palms overhead and the salt water lake and sea a few metres from the chalets.

There are 4 chalets at Quirimba Lodge.

There are two 4 sleeper chalets comprise a main bedroom with double bed and an open plan loft upstairs with 2 single beds. The kitchenette is situated in the corner of the main bedroom downstairs. The bathroom has a double shower and double vanities. Leading off the main bedroom is a small deck with wonderful sea views.

The 5 sleeper chalet has the same layout as the 4 sleeper, except there are 3 single beds in the loft area.

The 6 sleeper chalet consists of 2 bedrooms with an open plan loft upstairs.  This unit has a kitchen, dining area and small lounge with a furnished deck.

All chalets are well decorated, equipped for self catering and have spacious and modern bathrooms with double showers. Each chalet has a small deck and the units are linked by wooden walkways.  The chalets are serviced daily and there is a pool for use by guests staying at Quirimba Lodge.

We had a lovely holiday thank you!  I did not want to come back.

Service: Excellent

Friendliness: Excellent

Cleanliness:  Excellent

Facilities:  Good, the only problem was the geyser in the shower, hot water only for the first day.

Overall:  Excellent, would definitely come again.

We had a fantastic time at Quirimba. The accommodation was perfect for our needs. The staff that take of the units are amazing. Special mention about Genito, he took care of us very well.

E. Van Goeverden (January 2019)

Friendliness: Excellent

Cleanliness:  Excellent

Facilities: Excellent

Overall:   Good (only because of the cleanliness of the perimeter of lake in front of the Lodge, road below and spotlights from Sentidos)

We had a fabulous holiday.  The spotlights from Sentidos are very invasive. The Salt Lake in front of the Lodge is really dirty and smells.  We understand that this is a perennial lake, but Quirimba could perhaps clean up the area at least in front of them and the litter on the road.

The staff were absolutely brilliant – so helpful and friendly – there really made our stay memorable.

Other than that, we would certainly re-book at some point.

Cleanliness: Excellent

Overall: Excellent

The stairs at bit much but the walkway have rails to hold on too. The only thing is we need to check for knee replacements and little ones that can fall off the decks as there is no barrier. Otherwise a lovely place and nice people.

Friendliness: Excellent

Cleanliness:  Very good

Very good experience, I would maybe just make mention of the fact that there are no windows and that the windows consist out of net only.

It was a great location and the swimming pool has an excellent view and is close to the house, which is great.

Thank you for your great service and assistance as well!

E. Harmse (January 2017)

The accommodation was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the fact that we are so close to the sea. The few issues we had is that we never had hot water. Our unit leaked when it rained. Other than that it was great.
B. Prinsloo (January 2014)

It was an absolutely stunning holiday and the accommodation was just perfect. We loved the rustic feel to the lodge and it was well equipped. The view was spectacular.  The only concerns regarding the lodge is that it has a leak in the living room roof close to the front door. It rained a couple of mornings and we had to put a bowl under the roof to catch the drip. The housekeeper was very efficient, coming in to clean every morning.

Service: Excellent
Friendliness: Excellent
Cleanliness: Excellent
Facilities: Excellent
Overall: Good (only because of the leak)

Thank you for your excellent service.
