Beautiful place especially Villa 2, had everything that we needed. No complaints.

It was awesome. The shower wasn’t great but the bath was. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Golden Beach was fantastic. Service was great and our cottage absolutely lovely. We will definitely go back as soon as we can.

I. Rudolph (May 2019)

Our stay was great thank you! A few minor adjustments and it would've been awesome! There was trouble with the aircons and we had maintenance guys coming and going the whole time. The main room toilet had a bad smell every time we flushed it, and lastly, too little kitchen cooking utensils, like egg flips, small plates, leftover food storage containers etc., and the braai was non-existent when we arrived (but they did supply us with a smaller one).

Friendliness, cleanliness, and overall I would rate it excellent!!

M. Badenhorst (January 2019)

Many thanks, we had a lovely stay at Golden Beach, the houses are lovely and everything worked – which is not always the case in Mozam

My only issue if anything would be the cleaning, our house was very dirty on arrival we had to get a cleaner in at 6pm at night which after a long trip is not great, but as I said other than that great venue and staff very friendly and did their best to assist us.

We absolutely Fell in Love with Golden Beach and most certainly will go back for more. We overall rate it a 4/5 only because we had breakfast the one morning that was outstanding but extremely expensive and we did not prepare for that at all.

This is our 2nd year staying at Golden Beach during December.  In 2016 we stayed in Villa 3 – stunning and beautiful, we had no issues.  For Dec 2017, we decided to book a Villa with a pool and we stayed in Villa 6.  What a disappointment.

Nice and modern. Would really like if they can build a stairway from the parking to the unit, as the unit is very far from the parking should you use  the walkway, especially when carrying small sleeping children and heavy luggage

Unit set in a beautiful environment, walk up and down to the beach was exhausting however exhilarating. Warm friendly and helpful staff.  A suggestion to put out some pamphlets of what to experience in the area or activities to do.

We will definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

The linen and beddings should be changed as there were stains and marks. It was not dirty but stained. Also the bedside lamp on my side was terribly rusted.

A.Kazi (February 2017)

We did enjoy our stay at Golden Beach Village. Staff were friendly, the house was well furnished and tidy and the restaurant makes good grilled chicken. The private pool however was green from the time of arrival till the day we left. We did report it and the cleaners threw in some chlorine I presume. Didn’t work.  Nevertheless the Manager did allow us to use the pool from Villa A which was clean.

Just to add, we were hassled by the officials at the border post on arrival. It seems that all they really want is a bribe. We were not the only people to experience this on that Saturday and  we had been warned by other visitors to Mozambique that this would happen.  It was really a bitter start to our holiday. Personally I would not want to return to Mozambique for a holiday for this reason only. I'd rather spend my money on our local SA beaches than palm it off to border officials from another country. It is really a shame that tourists get treated badly when it's their money that Ponta really depends on. If this kind of corruption continues then I dont think its worth coming to Ponta.

Nevertheless Ponta is a wonderful place and I do hope for the sake of its tourism that these issues at the border are rectified.

L. Pillay (February 2017)

Service: Good

Friendliness: Good

Cleanliness:  Average to Good. The house is nice and clean, but housekeeping does not clean the kitchen/lounge and patio that well while you stay in it and this is the area that gets used most on holiday.

Facilities: Average to Good. Parking can be a problem at your unit.  If you arrive late coming home in the afternoon or evenings then you don’t have a parking spot.

Overall:  Good.  Very nice establishment in Ponta Malongane.  Will definitely want to go back.

The only concern I have is the cutlery, cooking utensils, glasses, bowls etc. in the kitchen.  For a self catering unit – its very, very limited.    This can definitely be improved.  Rather take a bigger deposit in order to have more sufficient kitchen utensils, glasses and decent pots and pans.  More drinking glasses and definitely updated wine glasses.  Those little wine glasses are old fashioned and outdated.  Double plates, knives and forks will be also be much better.

What a stunning resort.  We are fairly regular visitors to Mozambique and this resort is definitely one of the best we have stayed in.  Will definitely be back.

We enjoyed our stay at Golden Beach Village. Although there were quite a number of broken 'items' in the unit (Like door handles, the sliding doors and upstairs table) overall we thought the unit was great. Perhaps it’s worth mentioning on the website that the steps to the beach are actual STEPS/STAIRS as with small children it was quite a challenge. All in all though, we enjoyed it and would recommend the complex to friends and family.

The resort situation, cleanliness and friendliness were top notch. The views were stunning. We enjoyed the beach the most as it was away from the madding crowd and on most days we had the beach to ourselves.  The beach is 240 stairs down a dune - going down is easy but the return trip is a challenge, which we enjoyed.

It is a relatively new resort and as such, they have a few teething problems.  Some minor problems we experienced were:

1.  Breakfast is limited - no cereals on menu and on most days there were no yoghurts, cakes or muffins.

2.  Cleaning services were very efficient but normally came quite late in the day to clean the unit.

3. On the last day of our stay, the earth leakage switch kept tripping and as a result we had no power for that afternoon, night and following morning.

Overall though, we had a brilliant stay and will definitely be going back.

Rui and his team were very hospitable and accommodating to us during our entire stay.

They catered to our every need and made sure we were comfortable at all times. I will definitely recommend The Golden Beach Village to my friends and family and will definitely visit them again if ever I stay I Ponta Do Ouro again.
