Fernando’s Sun Seekers Camp in Ponta do Ouro is a brand new camp site which offers spacious and shady sites, 1.3km from the Ponta market on the road to Ponta Malongane.
Named after the legendary and much loved Fernando of Fernando’s Bar, the renowned landmark in Ponta where Fernando served up generous glasses of the local R&R (Rum & Raspberry) beverage. Fernando’s Sun Seekers Camp will become the new home of Fernando’s Bar where his wife Maria, assisted by the very popular barman Alfonso, will continue the tradition of her entrepeneur husband (during December holidays only).
Each privately situated camp site has ample shade and electricity. The sites are well lit and there are communal braai areas and clean ablutions, separate for males and females (serviced by a full time staff member during the busy holiday seasons).
Managed by the friendly, hospitable and experienced couple, Kenny and Carol, Fernando’s Sun Seekers Camp is set to become the new party place in Ponta!

GUEST REVIEWS FOR FERNANDO’S SUN SEEKERS CAMP IN PONTA DO OURO
For sure it was the best camp site so far for us.
Definitely a 5/5
And it was always clean.

Cleanliness: Excellent

Overall: Excellent
C. Needham (January 2019)
Service: Service was great and Kenny was very accommodating during our stay
Friendliness: Wonderful host
Cleanliness: Ok ish – The camp is a bit run down as it is only used in high season.
Facilities: Limited. Has water nearby and electrical points. Access to the beach is a drive of about 800 meters. The one thing is that it does not have is busy roads so it is tranquil and quiet. Not sure one needs more as we were camping.
Overall: Security can be improved. We had an incident where locals accessed the camp one night and some of our items were stolen while we were sleeping in our tents. Perimeter access can and should be improved. We were alone at the camp site for the first 4 days and security, whilst there was a guard at night, is not the best.

Friendliness: Staff were extremely friendly emphasis on Kenny and Bennet!!!!!
Cleanliness: overall very neat and tidy
Facilities: Basic but sufficient
Overall: Plumbing was a slight problem with the toilets on the ladies and gents side but other than that no problem
I absolutely fell in love with the campsite and staff. It is basic thus not as commercialized and peaceful (diamond in the rough). Will definitely book there again on our next trip.

The owner was super accommodating and went out of his way to make sure we were happy and comfortable. The facilities were clean and working for most of our stay. The camp site is well maintained and private. We expected it to be closer to the beach though. But overall we had a wonderful experience!
