Casa Tary in Pomene is situated on a remote beach on the North Bank of the Pomene Estuary.  Accessible only by 4x4, guests are ensured of a location that is far away from the usual tourist destinations, allowing visitors the opportunity to experience the Mozambique coastline at its best – pristine, underdeveloped and unspoilt.

This unique, privately owned property comprises the main thatched lapa which houses the living area and 5 separate bedroom suites – all linked by raised wooden walkways.

The 5 en-suite bedrooms accommodate 10 guests in comfort. The house is designed to allow big or small families to holiday together comfortably, without feeling cramped or crowded.

The en-suite bedrooms are all equipped with linen, mosquito nets as well as large cupboards with hanging and shelf space.

The reed structures are built above the sand on wooden decking, while the soaring thatch roof is designed to allow comfortable airflow and keep the living area cool in the mid-day heat.

The main lapa has a large kitchen, pantry, dining room, lounge and covered deck. The rumpus room - situated just next to the lapa - allows ample space for the children of all ages to play separately from the main lounge and dining area.

Two large 12 seater dining room tables allow ample eating space for guests as well as a choice of inside / outside locations depending on weather.

From the decked verandah of the living area, guests can watch the tide move in and out, the flamingos feeding nearby, and the unfolding of the daily activities on the estuary.

This eco-friendly destination offers a host of activities for the most adventurous guests or a really laid back experience for those wanting a relaxing vacation in Mozambique. Getting creative in the kitchen cooking delicious fish and seafood, evening bonfires on the beach and beautiful safe walks along the never-ending beaches makes this a destination a paradise that suits the entire family. The safe swimming area in the estuary, directly in front of Casa Tary is a paradise for small children.
