Izintaba is a private game reserve in the rugged but beautiful Waterberg bushveld, 50km from the town of Vaalwater and only 290km from Johannesburg.
Izintaba (place in the mountains), is a malaria free 1,200 hectare farm with over 40 mammal and 200 bird species.
With a variety of wildlife and habitats, stunning views, rivers and waterfalls, Izintaba is ideal for nature lovers, families, friends and couples wanting a romantic bush getaway.
Accommodation at Izintaba is provided in 6 spacious, attractively styled self-catering cottages which sleep between 4 – 16 people. Featuring cosy fireplaces, fully equipped kitchens and private swimming pools in the 2 larger units.
Each thatched cottage has a patio with views over the bushveld and a private lapa with braai facilities to fully enjoy the intoxicating scents and sounds of the African bush as the golden sun sets.
Guests who prefer not to cook can choose to sample the delicious breakfasts & dinners - or enjoy a traditional potjie or bush braai served in the Burkea Boma around a blazing bonfire, under the endless starry sky. Guests requiring meals need to pre-book one week in advance.
Able to accommodate 44 guests in total, Izintaba is a popular venue for intimate bush weddings where the reception is held in the thatched function venue and/or boma. The marriage ceremony can be conducted anywhere on the reserve, under the big old fig tree or on the open plains.
There are no dangerous animals on the property, guests can enjoy walks, hikes and cycles along the various trails. Guided game drives and walks led by an experienced ranger are also provided.
Pack your mountain bikes, walking shoes, fishing rods and binoculars for a busy bush getaway, or bring a book and enjoy relaxing and unwinding beside the rock pool.

GUEST REVIEWS
The stay was great! 1 of us even swam although it was cold. The house was a bit big for us though and there were lots of mini spiders in the beds upstairs but we moved them away and all was fine. There are no curtains on the windows upstairs so that was also a bit annoying for the ones that wanted to rest longer. But in general we all loved it.
