Manico Camp on Inhaca Island is an enjoyable 1-3 hour boat ride from the bustling city of Maputo.
With sprawling white sandy beaches, sparkling blue waters inside the coral reefs and featuring personalised and friendly service, Manico Camp offers exceptional value whether you are a couple seeking a romantic island holiday, a family wanting to spend fun time with your children or a group looking for a social leisure break on this beautiful Mozambique island.
Manico Camp has 7 Brick Cabins, 3 Deluxe Bush Cabins, 2 Family Bush Cabins and 8 Bush Cabins which share a communal kitchen and clean ablutions with hot and cold water. Situated a mere 10m from the high tide water mark, guests wake to the salty tang of the sea breeze in the mornings.
The brick cabins comprise a room with two single beds or a double bed, bar fridge, fan and dresser. The beds have mosquito nets.
The deluxe bush cabins are constructed from the local grass and also comprise a room with either a double or twin beds, bar fridge, fan, dresser and mosquito nets.
The rustic bush cabins have 2 single beds, fan, mosquito nets and a dresser and the 2 family bush cabins have 2 single beds and a bunk bed, dresser, fans and mosquito nets.
The quaint thatched bar and restaurant serves up excellent meals of fresh seafood including crab curry, grilled prawns and crayfish.
Manico Camp has a fully functional self-catering kitchen that will easily cater for big families, fishermen groups and couples. The kitchen is equipped with fridges, freezers, microwave, stoves, kettle, all cutlery and even a vacuum sealer for those wanting to take seafood back with them.
The bar has full extra view DSTV on board so that you don’t have to miss any live news or sports. The Camp also has a restaurant on board that serves a simple but tasty meals every day.
The lodge is protected by Mangrove Trees at the front of the camp which in turn provides a safe and private harbour for boats. Island hopping to the nearby uninhabited Portuguese Island and a visit to Santa Maria can be arranged and is a great outing to experience
The island is a popular destination for scuba divers, snorkelers and fishermen. Sight-seeing on the island is relatively simple, the lodge will either arrange a local taxi or a small local boat as your transport.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND INFORMATION
Inhaca is an Island 30km from Maputo, only accessible by boat. The ferry departs Maputo on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The ferry times or days can change due to weather. Alternatively you can contact a private boat service in Maputo to take you and pick you up from the island. You are not able to take a vehicle to the island, but you will be able to book vehicles to take you around the island if you wish to do some island site seeing!
Guests are required to bring own beach/bath towels.
There are no credit card facilities or ATM machines on Inhaca Island (cash only)
No Fishing Permitted from the Camp
Island Tax of MT200.00 per person (approximately R40.00) is payable on arrival to the authorities. Please ensure that you receive a receipt.
The lodge will send a taxi boat to meet you at the ferry and to transport you and your luggage on arrival (MZN30.00 / R10.00 per person)
The Snorkelling Reserve Fee is MZN200.00 per person (R40.00)
GETTING TO INHACA ISLAND
By Ferry
The least expensive ferry is Nylete government ferry at MZNZ300.00 per person (approximately R60.00 one way). The ferry departs Maputo on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 07h00. On Fridays the ferry departs Maputo at 12h00 (weather depending). Tickets are to be purchased at the terminal prior to departure.
Please confirm ferry departure time 24 hours prior to departing!
The ferry departs Inhaca Island on the same days at 15h00. No cars are allowed on the ferry. Vehicles may be safely parked at the Pescador Port for MZN100.00 (approximately R20.00) per day. The car park may be found at the corner of Avenida Martires de Inhaminga and Avenida Samora Machel). The lodge will send a boat to meet you to transport you and your luggage on arrival'
Using the ferry is the most cost effective way of travelling to Inhaca Island
Private Boat Transfers
Private or Shared Boat Transfers are preferred by guests when travelling to Inhaca Island.
The cost is approximately MZN12,000-MZN18,000 for the boat one way (up to 16 people)

Baie vriendelike hulpvaardige personeel. Bestuur (Oom Manie, Boet-Jan en Zito) ontsien geen moeite om behulpsaam te wees nie. Gasvryheid is beslis hul leuse!!
