Pomene Ridge in Mozambique offers a selection of 6 self-catering houses situated on the Northern side of the Pomene estuary.  From their elevated positions up on the ridge, the houses offer scenic views of the Pomene estuary, wetlands and an expansive white beach onto the open sea.

Pomene is a fairly secluded region and is situated in the province of Inhambane.  For those visitors wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of busy vacation spots, Pomene attracts the serious fishermen, scuba divers and holiday-makers who just want to relax!

Guests staying at Pomene Ridge  are accommodated in fully furnished and equipped 3 bedroom reed and concrete houses complete with kitchen, bathroom (with shower) and living area overlooking the sea and the estuary. The houses are serviced daily and are powered by generator (guests to bring own fuel) and solar panels (providing lights in the evening without noise of generator). There is a water pump which pumps water from a communal well.  Guests are advised to boil drinking water and to bring fuel to run the pump.

The houses are approximately 3 minutes’ drive from the beach - you may walk but the return trip is quite steep!

The chalets are set on spacious stands (30-40m apart) and surrounded by natural vegetation.

A boat ride up the estuary into the mangroves is a must for those who have an exploring nature and for the enthusiastic birdwatchers – don’t forget the binoculars!
