GUEST REVIEWS FOR ISLAND VIEW
Service: Excellent
Friendliness: Excellent
Cleanliness: Excellent
Facilities: Good
Overall: Good
A beautifully run spot with everything you could want for an “Island” -style self-catering getaway. Cottages were neat and tidy.
Nr 9 was better equipped than Nr 11 iro kitchen utensils, plates etc. We also found that Nr 9 was lighter & brighter. Nr 11 was quite dark & gloomy inside. Nr 9 definitely has the better layout for people renting for holidays. A skottel braai was an absolute necessity as the power seemed to go off almost every day – we would have really struggled without this. I’d also recommend that future guests are told to bring gas lamps or alternative lighting because the lighting inside both cottages wasn’t great. You definitely need torches to read or play games at night – the wall lighting is pretty poor and with the frequent power cuts you need to ensure everyone has light. The website says that back-up generators, gas stoves and emergency lighting are in place – this isn’t accurate. The generator was activated probably 2x over 16 nights / there’s no gas stoves (luckily we had the skottel) and emergency lighting is a small light in the kitchen of unit 9 only.
Besides for these minor details, we had a wonderful time. We loved the cottages, the garden and the direct access to the beach. Our cleaning ladies were both superb! Sitting back in the office now and longing to be lounging in my hammock with a cold beer and waiting for the tide to come in. ?
Thanks for everything – we really hope that we can visit again sometime soon.
