The Barracks in Colesberg was built in 1851 and the property was used as barracks during the Anglo-Boer War. Each guest room has folders containing information about the history of Colesberg and its involvement in the Anglo-Boer War.

Now lovingly renovated and restored, The Barracks offers well-styled and comfortable accommodation to guests (and in some rooms, their pets)!

The guest rooms all have private access and patios and full en-suite bathrooms. Fully air-conditioned and equipped with DSTV, the accommodation provides both double rooms and a spacious family unit (pet friendly) situated under a large shady oak tree with a private courtyard. In addition, The Barracks has a self-catering unit which has a small and secure courtyard (ideal for owners travelling with small pets only).  Please note that the courtyards are not escape proof for cats.

The dining room is open for breakfast and dinner - breakfast is served from 06h30 to 08h30 and guests have a choice of continental or full English breakfast which is included in the rate. Dinner is served between 18h30 - 20h30 - a private dinner on your patio is subject to the weather.

The well-stocked, cosy pub includes a wide range of beers, wines, whiskies, etc. and a collection of over 100 South African brandies.
