The Red Barn offers self-catering accommodation near Dullstroom. With blissful highland country views overlooking 2 glistening trout dams, river frontage, an assortment of buck and wild grasslands, this beautiful property is located 26km from Dullstroom on the road to Lydenburg.

The accommodation is provided in The Stables which are situated across the road from The Red Barn (which is the wedding venue). The Stables can accommodate 12 adults comfortably in 6 spacious, well-dressed double (king size) or twin rooms. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and a fireplace. 

There is a separate entertainment area housing the kitchen, dining, bar and lounge which is linked to the rooms by a pathway. A large outdoor fire pit is the ideal spot to relax, braai and drink in the beautiful, tranquil scenery.

The kitchen is equipped with two fridge/freezers and a large gas SMEG stove and oven.  All the crockery & utensils are provided and arrangements can be made for the rooms and entertainment area to be serviced daily.

Although The Stables offers self-catering accommodation, meals may be provided by prior arrangement.

The Red Barn is set in enchanting ruins dating back to the Iron Age. This venue is ideal for a country wedding – from small intimate gatherings to celebrations up to 140 guests. The Chapel on the premises can seat 60 guests, for larger weddings, couples may choose to exchange their vows alongside one of the dams or in the Birch Forest clearing.

Run on hydro-power, the aim is to keep this picturesque piece of countryside as green as possible. The Red Barn is pet friendly and especially lends itself to gatherings of groups of 6-12 people for any occasion

Spend your break, fly-fishing; birding; walking; exploring old stone ruins or just relaxing in the quiet, peaceful countryside of Dullstroom.

GUEST REVIEWS FOR THE RED BARN IN DULLSTROOM

The Red Barn was not what we expected at all when we drove up the dirt road.

We were all a little apprehensive when we saw the 2 buildings set apart from one another and the fear of living a weekend without hairdryers dissipated completely.

However, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute. The little walk to our rooms at night enabled us to appreciate the magnificent African sky which we would have missed had we not been forced to go on the “little trek” back and forth to our rooms and besides, the path was lit and gave us a little exercise after some heavy meals.

Our rooms were beautiful and clean although the water pressure had us hopping and skipping a little. A warm fire and crisp clean sheets were so very welcome after a day of eating, drinking and soaking in the magnificent views.

We all had a wonderful weekend and shall be happy to recommend and visit the Red Barn again.
