Colourful fishing boats parked on the beach in front, stilted wooden and grass chalets with long, silky fringes providing shade on the deck, whispering coconut palms overhead and the salt water lake and sea a few metres from the chalets. There are 4 chalets, 3 of which can accommodate 4 people and one which can accommodate 6 people. All chalets are well decorated, equipped for self catering and have spacious and modern bathrooms with double showers. Each chalet has a small deck and the units are linked by wooden walkways. The chalets are serviced daily.
This Mozambique lodge is situated close to popular restaurants and bars and with the fishing boats parked directly in front, a fresh catch-of-the-day is always available. A great choice for budget accommodation in Mozambique.
GUEST REVIEWS Friendliness 5/5 Cleanliness 5/5 Facilities 5/5 Overall 5/5 I have to say that we had a wonderful time at Quirimba Lodge. When going to Mozambique you must know that somewhere along your visit you'll have power outages. Ricardo and Jenito (Quirimba Lodge Staff) was so helpful and always friendly. We will most definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy Barra! Although a swimming pool would be nice to have on our next visit. It was an absolutely stunning holiday and the accommodation was just perfect. We loved the rustic feel to the lodge and it was well equipped. The view was spectacular. The only concerns regarding the lodge is that it has a leak in the living room roof close to the front door. It rained a couple of mornings and we had to put a bowl under the roof to catch the drip. The cleaner was very efficient, coming in to clean every morning.
Service 5/5 W. Poulter, South Africa, January 2013 We had awesome time in Mozam, The unit we stayed in Quirimiba Lodge was great, just no parking. We will go back there. Kept clean every day. We did have a bit of a problem with the toilet did not flush properly they did try to fix it but it did not help. I did get eaten alive by the “palm flies” suffered bad with that had to leave earlier than we wanted to. S. Blom, South Africa, January 2013

The only real negatives were that there wasn't hot water very often. There was a slight damp smell to the house and sink in the kitchen of house 3 leaked slightly, otherwise no complaints. V. Tilly, South Africa, December 2012 Service 5/5 J. Tempelhoff, South Africa, January 2012 Our stay was everything we wanted and more. Relaxing, peaceful and the views from our deck were stunning. Going to sleep and waking up with the wonderful ocean breeze moving through our chalet was absolutely wonderful! The beach was easy to access. It was also easy to arrange for purchase of the daily catch of fish, crab and prawns. We look forward to returning to the lodge for another memorable Mozambique adventure. Quirimba Lodge is truly a stay in paradise. We all had a great time at Quirimba Lodge. The view from our deck was the best. Our chalet was lovely. We had everything we needed except a toaster, which would be handy for breakfast time, although we managed fine without. The shower water which was cold and suddenly boiling hot then cold again. We eventually managed the setting. Martello, who looked after our chalet was excellent, Anything we needed from bread to airtime he organized for us with no complaints and always a smile. The doors between the deck and lounge/kitchen area opened completely and the breeze right through the chalet was wonderful, this is a great idea. We would definitely book there again. The only concern when booking for December being so hot, would be the Lodge not having a pool. Although so close to the sea, from experience spending December at Barra Lodge, We definitely enjoyed the pool the most as we often had a dip late at night, which you can`t really do in the sea. Wim contacted us on our day of departure with contact no`s should we need help anywhere. Thanks again for a great holiday!!
We had an excellent time – the lodge was great and all the boys had a great time. Next time I will definitely stay for longer. S. Revell, South Africa, June 2010

From Maputo, take the EN1 North to Xai Xai. The road from Xai Xai to Inhambane is very badly potholed so please take care not to drive this section at night. Approximately 50km after Inharrime, there is a signboard on your left 'Lindela'. Take the right fork at this point to Inhambane. In Inhambane, turn right when you reach the harbour pier on your left. Travel through the town until you reach the stop sign. Continue to your right around the circle and follow signs to Tofo and Airport. At the Tofo/Barra crossroads, with Bar Babalaza on your right hand side, continue straight on a dirt road for approximately 8kms. The road will veer sharply left and right. Take the road to the right (past Anda Ca Lodge). Take the first sand road right again (straight away) and drive past Dorado Lodge and Casas Delight. Continue on this sand/clay road until you reach Quirimba Lodge which is situated on a dune at the back of the salt water lake.
